1) GENERAL SHOP HELP

JOB SUMMARY:

Shop clean up and general helper in equipment repair shop.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Janitorial work, sweeping, painting, mopping, maintaining cleanliness of shop area and grounds.
  • Trash removal.
  • Running errands in company vehicles.
  • Load and unload trucks occasionally.
  • Steam clean trucks occasionally

QUALIFICATIONS /PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current driver’s license
  • Self-starter, organized.
  • Familiarity with general hand tools.
  • Exposure to inclement weather and wet, wash bay environment (weather gear provided).
  • Exposure to cleaning detergents and chemical solutions.
  • Climbing up and down ladders and handholds in a damp environment.
  • Use pressure washing equipment while standing on wet surfaces.
  • Operate a forklift and pass OSHA operators test.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs regularly and more from time to time.
  • Requires pushing/pulling with 10 - 20 pounds of force regularly -- 50 lbs of force occasionally

WAGES AND BENEFITS:

2) PARTS DEPARTMENT SPECIALIST

Family owned construction equipment company in need of an experienced, self-starting Parts professional in our brand-new facility. We are looking for people who want to grow with the company. People with a good work ethic that want to advance and increase their earnings by assuming increasing responsibilities. Don't get stuck at the parts counter when you can do more. Success at this position affords you the ability to move to Service advisor, Parts Manager, Production Manager and more.

We specialize in commercial truck mounted cranes. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic fittings and pumps would be an asset. Must have a current driver’s license, CDL driver a plus. This is a hands-on position. Must be physically fit and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly and drive a fork truck. Job requires standing, climbing and stooping. May be exposed to inclement weather occasionally and be familiar with a truck repair facility environment. Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and navigating manufacturer websites. Must be familiar with parts books and detailed diagrams – hard copy and online. Must be able to multitask and have great people skills. High School education minimum.

3) JOURNEYMAN AND APPRENTICE MECHANICS

We are continuing to grow!   Invest in your future.  Join us in our brand new 38,000 sq. ft. facility in Hodgkins, Illinois. 

You will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining telescoping and articulated cranes, bucket trucks and related mobile equipment mounted on commercial truck chassis in our shop or in the field. We represent top manufacturers including: National Crane, Palfinger, Elliott, Dur-A-Lift, Stellar and Knapheide. Apprentice applicants should have mechanical ability, some experience as a mechanic and a solid work ethic. Ongoing familiarization and training will be provided by our supervisors and lead techs. Equipment specific training is provided by our manufacturers and vendors.

Wage rates range from $22 - $44 per hour. Journeymen can earn well over $85,000 annually. As a member of our team, you will be required to join Mechanics Local 701. The union provides a full benefit package including pension, health, vacation, etc. Additional benefits provided by Runnion Equipment Company include: 401k match, AFLAC insurance benefits, sponsored welding certification, uniforms and more. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit. Must be able to lift, pull, push 50 - 75lbs as well as climb on and under trucks and equipment in all weather.
  • High School diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to communicate well – verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to obtain CDL designation
  • Ability to pass a pre-hire drug screening
  • Must have own basic mechanic’s hand tools.
  • Mig welding experience a plus.

JOURNEYMAN REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum six years as a heavy equipment tech with diagnostic/repair experience (military equipment experience applies).
  • Experience with the repair and maintenance of pressurized hydraulic systems and electronic circuitry.
  • Ability to work with electronic diagnostic tools and computers.

4)  CDL DRIVERS - ON CALL

Perfect job for a retired or semi-retired person with a Class "A" or "B" with air brake endorsement CDL.  If you are a part time driver or looking to augment your earnings, this could be the job for you.

You will be "on call" and we will contact you whenever we have trucks that need to be moved between repair shops, delivered to customers, or picked up at out of state manufacturers facilities.  

Typical week may have three to five local trips and the occasional "over the road" trip to Indiana, Wisconsin or Iowa to deliver or pick up units.

You must be available on short notice and you must be DOT medical approved.  We will pay for your DOT medical.

$19.00 PER HOUR.  PORTAL TO PORTAL.
